Invest in the Future of Lamar County with Planned Giving to UWLC

Invest in the future of your community with planned giving through United Way.

When you include the United Way of Lamar County in your planned giving, you are helping to ensure that families in our community achieve financial stability. You’re helping children enter school ready to learn. And you’re providing youth with the support they need to stay in school and graduate. These are the building blocks of better lives, and they form the foundation of a strong community.

Leaving a planned gift is a meaningful way to both make an expression of your values and realize significant financial, tax and estate planning benefits. The process is simple, but the impact will be felt for generations to come. We’re happy to walk you through the process and answer your questions. Thank you for your support of United Way.

PLANNED GIVING

A bequest provision can be included in your will when you are creating it, or you can amend your existing will through the use of a codicil. This arrangement provides you with flexibility and control should your circumstances change. You can designate an exact amount or asset or a percentage of the assets in your will. F

HONORARY / MEMORIAL GIFTS

Honorary or memorial gifts provide a unique and lasting way to commemorate a milestone, a special occasion or to honor someone’s memory with a gift.

DONATE SECURITIES

Donating stocks and securities is easy to do and can make a huge impact on the lives of people in the community.

IRA ROLLOVER GIFTS

Now that the Individual Retirement Account (IRA) charitable rollover has been made permanent, you may wish to consider making a gift of IRA assets to United Way. This provision allows American taxpayers ages 70.5 and older to donate up to and including $100,000 from their IRAs each year without having to treat the withdrawals as taxable income.
